I wonder, when we promise something like this to God, does he make the promise right back? When we tell God we are willing to do His work, does He then say He's willing to use us? Could it be that when we are willing to go wherever God calls us, that He will then begin to use us, right where we are? I wonder....
I was walking down beautiful Maryland Avenue last Friday and this is what I said to the Lord. "If you give me the platform, I will use it." But as I continued my walk I began to wonder if I was saying that to Him, or if He was saying that to me.
I wonder, when we promise something like this to God, does he make the promise right back? When we tell God we are willing to do His work, does He then say He's willing to use us? Here’s some honesty for you. I judge people. I love people, but I also hate sometimes. I gossip. I think mean things. I don’t love all the time....
Every couple of weeks or so I will put a weekly challenge up on the blog. Each challenge will have it's own set of rules and time constraints. I hope that you will all take these challenges and put them into practice and share your stories. My hope is that they will enrich your lives and provide you will exciting memories and inspiration.
This weeks challenge: -Find/experience something truly beautiful and record it in some way. Please share your experiences, pictures, stories, or any other form of recording @ creatorsforcreator@gmail.com. Look forward to hearing from you. -jon For whom do I live?
What accolades do I long for? The earth? Is the earth my queen? Do I live to please her and her subjects? Do I perform for applause? Do I write to get published? Do I sing for a record deal? Do I design for a label? Do I paint for fame? Fortune? Do I dance for the spotlight? Do I speak to be spoken about? Do I live for her? Earth? No, no. I have received a higher calling From a great King And I live for Him Beyond the applause I live for Him -jon The other night I was in a technical rehearsal for a play. I started moving and completely lost my sense of direction, I couldn’t see anything, I didn’t even know if I was moving toward the bench or toward the audience. I quickly regained what I thought was a sense of where everything lay in the space and I cautiously began to move toward where I thought the bench was. A short five seconds passed and then the lights came up. I had not made it to the bench. Although I was not as far off as one might have expected, I stood in a slight squat, two feet to the right of my spot..... |
