That being said, I really only consider my time in school to be 50% of my education. Having been out in the marketplace, or "the real world", for a little over 18 months now, I realize that school did very little to teach me how to make a living out here. Traditional schooling gave me many of the necessary tools to compete, but for the most part, the American educational system, as it stands right now, did very little in teaching me how to use those tools to win in the marketplace.
The artist who is seeking to win never stops learning. She knows that graduating from a University, while it is something to be proud of, it is not the end for her. It is barely the beginning.
School gives us to tools. The vital creative seeks to continue his education everyday by learning how to leverage those tools to not only make a living, but bring life to everyone around him.
