Don't get me wrong, I am fully committed to taking steps everyday to master my craft, but I also know that true mastery requires far more than in-bred skill. This is usually where the split happens.
I am also aware that there are thousands, tens of thousands, even millions of people with better ideas than me. For every one idea I come up with, they can easily dream up fifty. This doesn't bother me either.
Don't get me wrong, I believe in the power of an idea, but I know that an idea left untouched by action creates zero change. This is also where the split happens.
The split happens when it comes time to use one's talent.
The split happens when it comes time to take action on an idea.
The split is what separates the artist from the bum.
The split happens between the few who do and the many who talk.
Talent does not make you successful.
Using those talents is what makes you successful.
Having ideas doesn't make you unique.
Turning ideas into action is what makes you unique.
There are millions of more talented people out there with better ideas than me. But in my experience, 99% of them fall victim to the split. 99% of them are not committed to action. The simple choice of committing to action will get you past the split and ahead of the competition.
I refuse to fall victim to the split.
I am committed to action.
Are you?
